SCARPERIA (Firenze), 30 maggio 2008 – Per i più appassionati di moto é il più atteso periodo dell’anno e mi sto riferendo proprio al Gran Premio della MotoGP al Mugello …

Sono quasi le 6 di sera in quel piovoso venerdì di fine maggio, e siamo in attesa presso il motorhome AGV dell’arrivo di Valentino Rossi con cui è stata concordata una scansione 3D finalizzata allo studio personalizzato dei futuri abbigliamenti e accessori, come il casco del campione. Per la seconda volta, Dainese ci da l’opportunità di collaborare in una operazione di body scan sul pilota di Tavulia – sette volte campione del mondo – la prima in precedenza richiestaci per lo sviluppo dell’equipaggiamento protettivo su guanti e stivali da moto professionali. Nell’occasione abbiamo attrezzato in un angolo del motorhome una sorta di cabina di scansione utilizzando uno scanner Breuckmann (ora parte di Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence) a luce strutturata, sistema che integra due fotocamere digitali e un proiettore di pattern, tecnologia di scansione senza contatto con un’acquisizione dati molto rapida ed un alto livello di dettaglio. In anteprima nella giornata avevamo scansionato altri piloti come Raffaele De Rosa, Héctor Barberá e Mattia Pasini ma ora è il turno del campione che arriva sotto la pioggia incessante in scooter accompagnato e protetto dall’inseparabile fedelissimo Alessio Salucci da tutti chiamato Uccio. L’acquisizione fila veloce, senza intoppi, la riflessione dei pattern di luce che via via scorrono sul viso consentono la rapida ricostruzione 3D digitale delle geometrie dei volumi rilevati … anche se devo dire che con Valentino accanto … hai l’impressione di lavorare con una leggenda. Ora a scansioni avvenute i tanti modelli 3D così ottenuti, verranno trattati in un software 3D brevettato per ulteriori elaborazioni, soluzione che (aiutata da semplici fotografie con l’espressione desiderata) permette di plasmare forme complesse di inaspettato dettaglio.

Il Gran Premio motociclistico d’Italia 2008 corso il 1º giugno, è stato il sesto Gran Premio della stagione 2008 e ha visto vincere la Yamaha di Valentino Rossi in MotoGP … pole e vittoria, la settima consecutiva su questa pista.
